HORSE SERVICE CLUB - for teens who like to help
A small group of teens work together to make life better for horses and the humans they help. Our horses help people in many ways at the farm, and sometimes by outreach programs to long term care facilities and schools.
Teens can earn community service hours required for high school. This is a supportive, supervised setting and teens are provided safety training while good work habits are promoted. We have often provided reference letters to support job applications to reliable, good workers.
Type of work (depending on weather and the needs at the time) could be any of the following:
Raking, cleaning brushes, weeding, shoveling manure; cleaning stalls, washing windows, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, grooming horses, etc.
Meeting the needs of the horses is a lot of work. We appreciate your help.
Hours are scheduled in advance. Please call Christine or Anne (613) 346-7777 to see if this welcoming environment is a good fit for the teen in your life. We will add you to the list to be notified of future scheduled work dates.
